New chapter for Verde in Downtown Bettendorf

Check out the revamped menu with fresh ingredients daily

March 24, 2025

Taking over a well-established restaurant is no small feat, but General Manager of Verde, Nam Nguyen is ready to build on the restaurant's success while adding his own unique touch. With a passion for great food, exceptional service and unforgettable dining experiences, Nam, who spent 22 years at Duck City Bistro in Downtown Davenport, is ready to make your visit to the new Verde memorable. With a strong commitment to high-quality ingredients, he envisions Verde as more than just a restaurant—it’s gathering space where great food and experiences come together.

Bringing his culinary expertise to Verde, Chef Eduardo Padilla is eager to introduce fresh flavors showcasing seasonal ingredients and flavors inspired by his mother’s kitchen. Guests can look forward to trying out Verde’s new dinner menu at a special tasting this Weds., March 26 (see their Facebook page for all the details). You can indulge in smoky achiote-marinated grilled chicken resting on creamy mashed potatoes, drizzled with a rich cactus broccoli cream and topped with radish slices and microgreens. Chef Eduardo says it’s a perfect blend of earthy richness. Three other entrees will be featured at the tasting as well.

Whether it’s fan-favorite staples or bold new additions, the focus remains on delivering exceptional taste with every plate. “We serve food that is authentic in flavor, but creative and innovative,” said Nguyen. “We are a 100% from scratch kitchen and bar, making all of our own syrups in-house and squeezing fresh juice daily.”

While Verde’s foundation remains strong, exciting changes are on the horizon. From  menu revamps to enhanced dining experiences, the new team is focused on keeping things fresh.

If you haven’t visited Verde recently, now’s the perfect time to experience its renewed energy, passion and flavors. Stop by Verde at 1507 State St., (at the foot of the I-74 Bridge) in downtown Bettendorf and taste the new era of Verde for yourself.

Currently, the restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday – Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with an outdoor patio for spring and summer dining. Verde is looking into having lunchtime hours sometime this summer.
